Types of Decorative Glass
Take a look at some of the decorative glass that we offer to both homeowners and the trade.
Bevelled Glass
Our bevelled mirrors and glass are cut and polished with precision, using specialist grinding machines to achieve angles from 6mm to 38mm. Whether for a domestic space or a trade project, this finishing touch adds sophistication and catches the light beautifully.
Sandblasted & Etched Designs
Our sandblasting and etching techniques create striking visual effects on glass and mirror panels, from bespoke branding to feature artwork. It’s a modern process with a traditional look, offering privacy while still letting natural light through.
Painted Glass
Our back-painted glass panels can be supplied in any industry-recognised colour, including RAL, NCS, Farrow and Ball, and Dulux. Perfect for splashbacks, balustrades, and shop fronts, we can also add custom logos or designs to suit your project.
Patterned Glass
Our patterned and textured glass lets in plenty of natural light while keeping your space private. With 18 designs and five grades of cloudiness from Pilkington, we can find the perfect fit for homes and businesses alike.
Bevelled Glass
Bevelled glass and mirrors have their edges cut and polished at an angle, so the perimeter tapers to a thinner, faceted border while the main body of the panel remains at full thickness. That angled edge catches and refracts light, giving a more elegant finish than a plain flat edge. Every piece is drawn up in house to the customer’s specification and shaped on specialist computer-controlled bevel grinding machines.
Bevels are produced from 6mm to 38mm, and straight-line angles are also available. Sizes and shapes are made to order, so the bevel can be scaled to the proportions of each panel and the finish chosen to suit the surrounding interior. Bevelling is a decorative treatment only: the reflective quality of the mirror is unaffected.
The range covers glass and mirror for domestic and trade customers, including ceiling-to-floor hallway mirrors, full-length antique bedroom mirrors, antique and distressed mirrors and coloured mirrors, all suited to hallways, feature walls, bedrooms and any space that calls for a decorative centrepiece. Samples can be seen in the showroom and workshop before ordering, and installation is available.

Sandblasted & Etched Designs
Sandblasting is a method of decorating or marking the surface of glass and mirror panels and sheets. Traditionally the same etched effect was produced with chemical agents, but it is now achieved almost entirely by abrasive blasting, which avoids the use of very harmful chemicals. It lends itself to traditional as well as bespoke and original designs, and obscures the panel for privacy while still admitting good levels of light.
Work can be shallow surface blasting, or built up in different layers and depths to model light and shade across the panel, which is effective for logos, images and crests as well as lettering, text, numbers and borders. Sandblasted glass for windows can be incorporated into double glazed units, and the base glass may be laminated or toughened for additional strength, security and safety. It is an alternative to textured patterned glass where decoration or privacy is required.
Typical uses include house names and numbers, fanlights over doors, signage and decorative panels, along with company branding on commercial glazing. Panels are designed and produced in our own workshop, large sizes included, and an in-house graphics expert prepares the artwork and supplies proofs; we can equally work from designs you provide.

Painted Glass
Painted glass, also known as back-painted glass, carries a coloured paint layer on the rear face of the panel, giving a smooth, opaque finish. The glass is cleaned thoroughly first to remove dust and dirt, the colour is then mixed to the exact shade required and applied to the back surface, usually sprayed for an even coating, although rolling and brushing can also be used. It is then dried and cured; the resin paints used are long-lasting and will sustain for as long as the glass itself.
Panels can be supplied in any industry-recognised colour palette, including RAL, NCS, Farrow and Ball and Dulux, and are cut to size. Customised designs can be added as well as flat colour, such as company logos, slogans, illustrations or house names. Low-iron or clear glass is preferred as the base, and toughened glass can be used where extra strength is needed. The finish is water, stain and heat resistant and easy to clean, and samples can be supplied before a full order.
Painted panels suit kitchen splashbacks matched to an existing palette, bathroom splashbacks, wall cladding and feature walls, glass balustrades and shopfront glazing. Every panel is made bespoke to the dimensions and specification of the project.
Patterned Glass
Patterned or textured glass admits the maximum amount of light while restricting the view through it, making it a practical answer wherever privacy is wanted but a solid panel would not be. In crowded commercial and residential areas it stops a space being overlooked without shutting out daylight. The patterns are produced by Pilkington Glass, a high-end manufacturer with nearly 200 years of experience, and run from fine reeded profiles through to chantilly styles.
Eighteen patterns are available, together with five grades of cloudiness, so the degree of obscuration can be matched to the room and its outlook. Where something more durable is required there are toughened and laminated variants, and the glass can also be supplied as double glazed units. Panels are made to exact requirements.
The range suits shopfronts and offices, showrooms and private homes alike, and is particularly useful in street-level rooms facing busy streets, where it improves privacy and appearance without darkening the interior. Both homeowners and commercial buyers are supplied, with assistance available on installation where it is needed.

They can. Etched and patterned glass can both be incorporated into double-glazed units, which means you can have decorative glass in an window without affecting your thermal performance. This could be useful to help bathroom windows and door panels become more private and insulated.
They produce a similar visual effect, but sandblasted glass is a permanent finish applied directly to the glass surface, whereas frosted film is a self-adhesive sheet that’s applied on top.
Sandblasted glass is more durable, won’t peel or bubble over time, and gives a cleaner, more consistent result. At Osborn’s, all our etching is done by sandblasting in our South London workshop instead of chemical processes.
We can colour match to any specific colour reference including RAL, NCS, Farrow & Ball, and Dulux.
If you have a specific colour in mind, share the reference and we’ll confirm what’s achievable. Custom artwork, logos, and graphics can also be incorporated into painted glass panels.

I can't recommend this company enough. They are absolutely brilliant. We had a crack in our mirrored splashback and was original told by another company that it would be a really complicated and expensive job. Found Osborn glass and they quoted 4 times less and got the job done in less than an hour! Really great communciation and would highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

Osborn fitted our new front door a couple of years ago and we've been really pleased with it. But what's been even more impressive is their after sales service. Nick, the installation manager, has been brilliant with following up a minor teething problem we had and with other matters. We've recommended Osborn to friends and they've also had a similar experience to us. This is a company that in our experience does not just take the money and then leave you - they follow up and provide great customer service.Posted on Google![]()

I was recommended to Osborne Glass by a friend and I was delighted with them . Importantly I am thrilled with the quality of their work which has transformed my kitchen. What set them apart though was the fantastic service from Tony and his team . As well as doing a superb job they were all just so great to deal with . They would be my first choice on similar projects in the future .Posted on Google![]()

I can't recommend this company enough! I had a complex mirror repair on a wardrobe door that was chipped, and I was really worried about it. The mirror had a triangle shape with diagonal edges, and I needed it to perfectly match the other mirrors on the door. I had reached out to other companies, but most told me the job was either impossible or would cost more than the wardrobe itself. Tony, the manager, was incredibly helpful on the phone, reassuring me that they could do the job and match the existing mirrors perfectly. He was very responsive to emails, and I really appreciated his attention to detail. The service was top-notch from start to finish. The guys who collected and delivered the door were not only professional but also super nice and kind. They even helped me mount the door back onto the wardrobe, which was a lovely touch. The repair was flawless, and the new mirror matches the original ones perfectly. The whole experience was seamless, and I’m beyond happy with the result. The price was very reasonable for the high-quality work provided. If you need mirror repairs, these are the guys to go to! Professional, reliable, and truly skilled. Thank you, Tony and team!Posted on Google![]()
